Planned, organized, and directed the administrative, clinical education and research activities of the Food Services Department in a 432 active treatment teaching hospital. Established and maintained standards of quality of services; investigated improvements through appraisal and research. Controlled personnel, food and equipment costs; coordinated the food and nutrition services with other departments and agencies. Developed marketing plans, policies and procedures for maximizing revenue generation.
Key Accomplishments:
- Launched an innovative project using state of the art technology, to provide patient meal services to other hospitals, with projected increases to annual revenue of approximately $380K.
- Implemented a Cold Plating Re-thermalization system which resulted in annual savings in excess of $925K.
- Developed positive relationships with the local bargaining unit by handling issues fairly and consistently.
- Initiated a successful Computerized Diet Office Management System and a Ware Washing System and realized annual cost savings of $150,000.
- Increased customer satisfaction levels and exceeded the standard of 85% through consistent coaching and team building with staff.
